So I used to shoot single shot .410 many years ago. Are there Calif. legal .410 in Calif.? I recognize folks cutting them down for nefarious purposes has limited access. There must be legal length Single Shot .410s available, or are they all banned? What about C&Rs? Other legal possessions? Thanks!

.410s are legal just not the revolvers that shoot .410,too short of a barrel like taurus judge.
I think it has to be 18" barrel for shotgun.

I think they are legal -- I (used to) have a snake charmer I bought in California (at Andrews, before it turned into a Turners) probably 35 years ago. More recently, I was on the verge of gifting myself a BMG until I learned that 50 cal is not legal in California. As I recall, there is a 45 cal version, but just wouldn't be the same.

What do you mean by single shot? Like break barrel holds one round single shot? Because it seems everyone who answered before me didn’t actually understand what you were asking .

When you find one Joe make sure it has a 3" Chamber; I have an old Stevens Break Barrel but it has a 2-3/4" Chamber which makes it harder to find shells for it and I could never hit anything moving with it. Different story though with a Remington 1100 3" or Citori O/U a lot of fun with those

there is the 510 dtc.....check it out. legal in ca. because they banned the exact dimensions of the 50 bmg. they trimmed the case back .100" ( i think) and created the new legal 50..... as i understand it, same ballistics.

Joe - Stevens Model # 24 or Savage Model 42; Both are 22/410
Savage made many different Caliber/Gauge Combinations such as 357/20 gauge, 22 Magnum/ 410 & 20 gauge and many other combos. I occasionally see them on auctions going anywhere from $300 for a similar in condition as the gun above to 800-900 for a pristine model, the median price is 550-650

.338 Lapua is a real nice alternative.
