Lefty cow killer?

ISO a Lefty cow killer-
Currently looking at avet EX50
I can’t afford the T-RX50
I don’t want a wide spool either
Any suggestions or recommendations?
Firefighting has left me with a bad right shoulder that I can’t crank with.
reel must be lefty-

I would suggest a Penn International 50VISX. Then get Cal Sheets to convert it to Left hand. It won't be cheap but it is the most solid reel that you can get.

Not sure if they make a left handed version, but the Avet 50 3 speed is what I fish, don’t need the t-Rex , solid reel never had issues, caught all my big fish on it..

Couple my buddies use the ex50 and have caught plenty of big fish with them. As stated, no need for the t-Rex and it’s probably fairly easy for them to make you one lefty if they’re not available.

Buy one of the older 50's off of ebay even the old ones that don't have the solid frame buy the frame from Tiburon and then send it to Cal, two speed, lefty, blueprint. That's what I did with an old 50'

They do make a L 3 speed. I was concerned more gears more problems-
I may just stay at the 50/2. Good to hear t-Rex isn’t needed. I appreciate the help

Gears have never been a problem on mine, I own 2 50’s 3 30’s and a 30W
2 nd gear is IMO is the greatest value when trying to gain line on a big fish when he’s hanging outside and high is too high and low is two low..

One of the Avet brothers is left handed and it is a company policy to offer everything in left handed. The 50/3 is great because the low gear (1:1) is just what you need when you get a big fish up and down. The high gear (4:1) will let you keep up with a charging fish, or get rid of the slack when kite fishing. All Avet left hand reels come in silver but you can specially order other colors if that matters to you.

That’s fire!! What # braid and how much did it hold? I like this reel a lot but torn it a wide spool-

I have 500 yards of 100 lb. solid braid. There is still room for a top shot. At night, I have been using a Daiwa SK 300 gram jig. During the day, I use it for sinker rig fishing for big bluefin. Yes, it is a bit wide, but it is not heavy, that is, compared to my Makaira 20.

I like my Avet 30w 3-speed. Finishing cows when they're circling straight up and down you need to pinch the reel and hold line you gain. Hard for me to do with a smaller reel like the HX

I have a Penn 12 and 20 old ones that hold 600 yds 100 lb JB hollow, After Cal Sheets magic touch, I fish them like 30's and I can cast the 12 really well!

I have a silver lefty HX, a silver lefty HXW and a purple lefty JX. I don’t think colors are used to determine lefty or righty.

ATD 30T LH is my go too but its expensive. I have also fished the Valiant 800 and its an amazing flat fall reel. super light, can jig all day.
