Hey Skippers ! Got out today from San Diego Bay, got a scoop of bait and headed to 302, no patties on our way there! Arrived to find water temp to be 66.7, Blue water, and no patties. Trolled around the 302 without any love. Decided to go up to the 43 Spot and fly the kite and see if we get lucky. Underway and we found 5 patties, all dry, no one home. Got to the 43 spot and flew the kite for 2 hours without any takers. Beautiful Conditions out there today. Found a kelp patty and got 2 quick hookups, YT 21 and 25 lbs. Bite died down and no more takers. Decided to start heading to the 182. Just outside the 182 found birds, and upon further investigation found a shark feasting on a Opah ! Decided to bring him in for a few pics. Mako Shark was not too happy to give up his late lunch.
Overall a slow day. 1 out of 8 patties were productive. No signs of life at 302, 371, 182.

Those pour things get smoked by sharks all the time!! Could you see if it had a hook in its mouth? A lot they get taken while on a line.

"What's this bite radius crap? We'll stick you head in there and find out if it's a man eater"

Man, those are some big bite marks. BTW: Nice yellows, too!

I caught an opah once, and made tacos out of it. Then the alarm clock went off and I remembered that the opah tacos came from Mitches Seafood at Point Loma... :D

Man that would have been a toad Opah. Total advantage goes to the shark.

Not sure of the patties you were at . All ours were producing in those areas. I even got a dorado on chunk
