Quick report to add to the action around the 371 on Saturday.

Got out of MB at 5am heading between the 101 and 425 to look for paddies and fish seen the day before on fishdope. Flew by the weather side of the north island and not a kelp in sight. Got level with the south island and headed towards the 371. Temp started dropping drastically about 10 miles east of the 371. No birds or surface activity but started getting bait marks about 5 miles south of the 371 so we decided to start trolling towards warmer water. Less than 5 minutes and we get a double on the Mexi feather and cedar. Two on the board by 8am. Repeat the process within a 2 mile radius for a bunch more. When the sun started shining there were foamers everywhere. We threw swim baits and poppers as we trolled by for great success, once having a triple going. Around 1pm the bite died and there was a lot more boat pressure. The Chief came in and started cutting off the private boats. It was comedy. It was nice finding out we got more than the Chief did.

Around 2pm, with plenty in the bag and my first dodo, I had to keep in mind the remaining fuel. Headed back towards the north island to see if we could find any YT or kelp on the way. Once again no kelp and no strikes trolling the weather side of the island. Headed for the barn after.

    What worked:
    - feathers
    - swim baits

    What didn't work:
    - live bait
    - sinking colt snipers
