Sorry for the late report...cell service is a pain on the mooring in Avalon harbor. Got a late start Sunday afternoon; we left the marina at about 12pm or so. Saw bait jumping only a few miles outside the break wall and put some rapalas, plugs, and feathers in to get one big barracuda on a rapala. Kept moving towards the 14, no signs of life on the way, and nothing once we got there. Started to head up towards Avalon bank and more of the same. No birds, no kelp, no dolphins. Only those big, ugly white pilot whales. Weather started to pick up so we brought the gear in a jammed to Avalon. It was crazy being on the water seeing the rain and lightning over the island. We were thinking about heading out Monday morning but luau's and the Marlin Club had other plans for us. Guy pulled up to the mooring next to us Monday afternoon with one nice sized BFT (20lb?) he said he got at the 14 on a paddy with a sardine. But he said he worked all day for that one fish... Sorry for the lame report, but just trying to give a bit of an update for the guys outta SP.
