Met Ray at his BEAUTIFUL 35' Cabo "Go the Distance".

We had 4 plus Ray the owner. Left last night at about
10:45. Got some GREAT bait (dines) at the Mission Bat receiver.

8-10 knot drive (rotating crew every 2-3 hours), except Ross who
could not handle being up on the flying bridge (slept the whole run out).

Got trollers out about 7:15AM (ish), and about 3 miles North of the
1010.

Got a double jig strike around 7:45. Cedar plug and a zuchini.

Nice 25- 30 lbs long fins. Hank got a bait in the water, and got bit
on 25lb test. Boated another 20+lb albie. Kept trolling South of the 1010
and East. Two more jig stikes, one on a black and purple jet head, the second on a BIG dodo colored Megabait.

Boxed the area for a few hours. And the fleet dispersed.

Started working back up the line sort of toward the lower hidden (just east and north of the 1010 high spot).

Ross sees a paddie (about 4X8 plywood size) and we slide in.

First to dines to hit water get 16-20 lb yellow tail.

Wind was pushing us off the pattie fast. BTW thanks Pacific Star for
running up on our patties like an idiot bull.

Thankfully they missed the close kelp bite and left.:finger::finger::finger::finger:

About 300 yards off the pattie, we started getting hit on ALL fly lined
dines (20+lb BFT (12 of them) and 2 (YFT). Also picked up 6 dodos
off the pattie.

Rough water, but too much fish for our coolers to hold.
All fish caught in 70.5 - 71.7 f water.

They are out there. FYI. Ablies are in the fish box we are standing on,
so we did not pull them out for photos. Too tired.

Heard you guys out there. Nice Job. :appl:We trolled all the same stuff and same area and couldn't catch the bottom of the boat:rofl:. We got there kinda late. I think we saw that same paddie you did, however all we got were rats and left.

I called Ray to get on the trip with you guys, but I was to late. Went to H&M, got in line for Blue Horizon, but boat had engine problems, no go. Last week the Old Glory got cancelled on me, engine problems, Friday my buddies boat broke down, so in 1 week, 3 boat breakdowns, no fishing, damn I wish I got on with you guys! I am needing a fishing fix fast!
