Got out there around 6:30 and it was raining a bit. Looked around a bit but really no signs of life. Tried to make some bait but didn’t have much luck. Threw a flat fall around the kelp for an hour or so and released a few small fish but really wanted to come up with a few mackerel to fly line on the outside edge of the kelp. Around 10:00 I found a few stray mackerel (8 total) in about 70 feet of water on the north edge of the kelp. Drifted a few baits in the same area and ended up hitting a good bite between 11-12. Lost a few more to the kelp but ended up with a couple. School size (10-15lbs) but I’ll take it.
