Got some of the deans from the barge and they were the small ones. Made our way to La Jolla in a rough mixed up swell that never settlled down. Oh well. Settled into the fleet of boats already there. Didn't see anyone pulling on yellowtail but we still had hope. Windy and an odd drift put us over a spot in 125 ft. of water. My brother pulls up the 28 inch halibut and I get a couple of starries. So we do the drift again and up comes a lingcod and more small rock fish. "Let's do that drift again!" The sheephead bit the small dean dropper loop... All our fish were caught on the dropper loop.
