Headed down to Bahia Tuesday with no issues .Road conditions south of El Rosario fair to poor but especially BAD between Catavina and LA Bay turn-off. Some of the biggest pot holes seen in years with no crews filling them seen even on our return out. If towing I would be sure trailer and tires are in top condition and seriously consider having an extra leaf spring, hub assembly and necessary hardware etc. for field repairs.

Fishing was fair at best under full moon conditions all 4 days, weather nice til Saturday when westerly hit mid morning blowing at 20+

Wednesday we ran south hitting all the points to Bernabe for no yellowtail sign at all and scratch trolling for an occasional grouper tight to the rocks......some to 15lbs.

Thursday (on hearing a report) we ran up to Alcatraz at first light and sure enough they were up and boiling on our arrival. Initial casts with 6x Jr's and Tady 45's scored scored 3 yellows between 15-18lbs before they sounded. They popped up a couple more times briefly but no longer interested, bottom fishing rest of day for good taco meat. HOWEVER, we witnessed a couple charter pangas from town drifting live bait off the osprey nest scoring at least 3 white seabass.

Friday back to Alcatraz in the am but this time no surface activity, ran all the way up to Pta. Remedios for absolutely nada.

I was sick Saturday but they went out briefly before wind chased em back to Bahia. Gas and diesel a plenty in town. Headed for home and stayed over night in San Quintin at Jardenes and had dinner at the Old Mill.....great stuff. For anyone headed down soon, hope this helps........Rob

Rob - Thanks for the report, it's been a while since I've heard much from down there. I'm heading down June 6th though the 10th. I talked to Enrique who is expecting it to start to kick off soon. Tough break on getting sick and catching some wind, but if it makes you feel any better I worked all of those days and got sick too. I'll talk BOLA and the wind over work and sick.

Good report, no BS just good solid info on fishing and road conditions. You mentioned plenty of fuel do you remember the on going prices for gas and diesel? Planning to be there end of June.

Thank You

I though so, this is Connie and Brett we live on the same beach. Sorry you were sick we missed you at the fishfry.
Thanks Connie and Bret, I appreciate the sentiment. That nasal/chest cold was the worst case of the crud I've had in years and the westerlies blowing off the desert at night really tore me up. Saw the doctor day I got back and antibiotics were the ticket. Doing much better now but sorry I missed that dinner, Jeff told me how good everything was.
Bahia is a special place and full of good Mexican, American and Canadian people. I always look forward to coming back. Take care and I wish you all well........Rob
