    Pay attention to the signs.
There is a reason for the moniker, Killer Kern.

Have fun and catch a ton.

My wife just came home from visiting her mom who lives in Isabella. She said the Kern was flowing so fast nobody was allowed to swim in the river. One picture she sent the water was real discolored. Picture is from the park, where the kids are standing is usually dry.

I was at that same spot in May. Those kids would have been about 4 feet deep and it looked like a class 3 rapid going through the park.

Good choice sticking to the lake. The crappie and carp thing looks fun there. Around August or so the river will clean up and drop to fishable levels. I love the fall on the upper river. Good going and think about going back when the river settles down.
