Relax SMG...just poking you a little bit to try and get you to actually buy something instead of posting another WTB thread...and go fish yourself.

Nobody is selling them because they are worth more than Calstars, Phenix, Seeker , TruLines and Roddy's and they are waiting for museums to offer huge amounts of money for the implements of activities average human beings can no longer afford.

Gary, good luck with your search.

    Mid morning hump bump.

I like the action of these rods too.

I'm not looking to start a bidding war but I want one also!!!

    I'll start my own thread.

here is a non zebra on eBay for sale (july 2019)

    kencor.jpg

first i used to be a bigger kencor fan - bought orange 12-footers twice for surf fishing (one new in the '80s another used in 2015) - still my preferred surf rod

most recently (2017) bought a used green graphite-ringed as new 9 footer on the USA Kencor reputation expecting it to be Zebra USA quality - was greatly disappointed in its quality (reel seat failed right away, felt cheap, looked cheap, actually made in Japan if i recall correctly)

i think the USA Kencor trout rods are the finest still

my point is however: i think Kencor had its day compared to calstar from the blanks to every component used to build and finish the factory rods - the Kencor are nice collector pieces though i still enjoy fishing my original USA Kencors, but for me grossly overpriced

PS: unless it's a magic rod you're looking for the original orange kencor Zebra branded rods in the proper length can certainly fit that bill despite the econo components and finishing - IMHO

    Post lunch break bump.

I liked fishing for halibut with a Kencor 5' ultralight until I broke it. I repaired it and fished it until it broke beyond repair.

Lots of great memories made with that Kencor.
