Any reviews on Captain Mark and the Karlyn for a charter?

    Thanks!

Well here's an update on this question.

Yesterday I went fishing with Capt. Mark on the Karlyn and it was a fantastic day! In total we caught 9 ahi and 6 mahi mahi. We were by far the most productive boat that we saw or heard of yesterday. Plus Mark and his deckhand Hopper were both great guys to be stuck on a boat with for 10 hours. We definitely got our money's worth. Thanks Mark if you're reading this!

I've chartered Mark along with his first mate "Hopper", good crew...I put the Bloodydecks Marlin sticker on his boat, which is really stable...go for it .....

oops, missed the date and follow-up on your post...right anyway-good job

I'm from the mainland so I hope I didn't use the Ahi term incorrectly, but it is possible. What we caught though were 9 yellow fin tuna, most in the 25-35lb range. Then 6 Dorado/Mahi Mahi with the biggest about 35lbs and the others between 7-10lbs.

    Pics will be coming. :)

    And I miss-counted, it was 8 yellow-fin not 9. :)

nice catch and great picture! one thing I would say is if I chartered a boat and came back w/that I would think 'I thought I paid to go marlin fishing' but for peeps that want to get a tug on the line and come back w/ a smile and some fish, that is awesome! for marlin fishing w/130 # tackle I recommend chartering Anxious (www.alohazone.com) or Legend II in Kona

    tight lines,

Yeah, the term was used incorrectly but no problem bro, very respectable catch you would be lucky to wrangle that in on a 3-day out of sandy eggo!!! Here in the islands names go by size so a regulation ahi is a yellowfin tuna over 100 pounds anything smaller is just shibi. Couple weeks ago we had one local braddah on the 2500 fathom come home with 9 ahis, phenomonal day for him an his crew, tight lines an congrats again on an epic trip!!!!
