Waiting is the hard part. I second the note about don’t let the hoses and monitors in ICU scare ya. It’s part of the healing process. Some advice I got from my son’s brain surgeon years ago. If anyone goes into the patients room and gets upset, have them go back outside the room, get their cry on or whatever helps them. Then when they can handle it allow them back into the room. My son was scared enough after surgery, better he saw smiling faces and comforting hands to hold. Can’t tell you how many times over the years I had to check myself out of his room, leaned on a wall or a nurse and cried my eyes out. Then went back in to share some jokes with him. Best of luck to the whole family my friend. Remember, as she works into home recovery too, all of us are only a phone call away. Use us, even if it’s only for a half hour to give ya little break or take the kids for a treat.

Thanks everyone and all the pointers about the tubes and what not, they didn’t phase me. Nothing could once they said she made it. I have to admit I was not worried or scared till they wheeled her away. I’m now bed side and she made it. We just took out the breathing tube and got to talk. She’s amazing and on a speedy track the staff says. Everything is smooth so far guys.

There will be no bad vibes or crying in our suite, The vibes only welcome smiles. Nothing sad here, she made it! Had a valve repair, NOT replacement. Which was spectacular to find out. No life long blood thinners, yay!!! That was really important to Her cause she is super active athlete.

What a day, and I have a view of the Seattle yacht club which allows my daydreaming to run wild.

I’ll check back in and keep you all posted on the speedy recovery we all hope for.

Can’t appreciate the happy thoughts and prayers enough guys. Thank you

Excellent, I’m not sure how this will help my wife! But we are both very interested in learning more about what a robotic heart Sturgeon does. LMAO
