Solid work Jonathan! Nice fish!
Nice fish! Way to get a plan together and stick to it. Not always easy to do. The pictures really have great color in them.
I agree, Flyliners photos are always frame worthy.
It makes sense in a way. They have all the food they want with red crap, squid, and finbait but can be annoyed/excited into hitting the popper.
I think the trolling the spreader bar rig has the same effect. I can recall trying to catch small yellowfin for Blue marlin live bait fishing in the Bisbee's East Cape tournament. We and many other boats were in a thick school of small yellowfin but the standard hoochie rig wasn't working. After 30 minutes of fustration we were about to give up and pull lures when I decided to try a spreader bar. Within minutes our tuna tubes were full.
I think the spreader bar, kite, and popper have a similar effect on lockjaw tuna.
Great report Jonathon. I concur that second pic is bomb.
How many times did that shit lord Garibaldi tell us poppers and spinners don't work?
Keep the Faith, brother.
Great post! Just curious...What braid/floro were you running on that 6000 "Gosa"? That's a crafty little popper set up!
Nevermind on the question found it 40/50
