Left the harbor at 12 on Sunday . First Knockdown at 6 pm . Fish was 133 pounds . Yummee Flyer . Stoked to finally get that first jumbo . Amazing to see the fish hammer the bait . 3 knockdowns . Two stuck . One was foul hooked and popped at the leader . Now I can go back to fishing for fun . LOL

75 west huh? That out of SD or Oxnard? Long haul!

Nice fish. I know what you mean, fishing is stressful when you just need that first fish on the boat. Then you can relax and have fun.

75 west? ....PLEEESE list your secret spot! It would be nice to get rid of half the private boat traffic with a 150 mile round trip distraction.

Yes . I rigged my yummee myself . I did not like the rubber band setup . I used a treble in the back after feeding 400 pound mono through the body of the tail . I then used clear silicone to glue the single hook inside the hollow portion . I was having issues with the hook moving around . We had him hooked in the top of the mouth with the treble . We landed him in 25 minutes on 150 pound test . I just did'nt get the rubber band thing ? Looks fake .

Sounds like a solid setup

Line up
Jumbos are over 400lbs. , nice tuna though.
Yep 300=super 400=Jumbo. There are some here out west I think. The one on the New Lo-an was that big but hook pulled. It was witnessed by guys who knew. Be cool to see one caught!! If it keeps up maybe next year. If these are some of the same fish coming through the last few years. Been getting bigger is why I think it's possible! Time will trll
