My son and I are signed up on this trip and we are a little lonesome. Only 5 people so far. What the Hell! Bob Taft is a fish killing S.O.B., That boat is a fish killing S.O.B.. What's up? I'm guessing we probably need 15 to go. I've fished with Bob since he bought the original Shogun from Norm Kagawa, and have never been unhappy with the effort put forth by the crew. The boat only takes twenty-four and fishes that many just fine. I'm sure if we get out it will be a lighter load then that. And they will run that boat off the chart to make a catch (Lots of those 25 hour days in the past). If your looking at trips, and your undecided. You may have noticed they don't turn in a count often. That doesn't mean they didn't catch'em.

Come on down Carl, we'll make the bitch bring us Ammo! He's out looking for my 410 Dove ammo tonight. I told him no breakfast without ammo.

I rode with Bobby 4 times a year for over a decade. Hundreds of tuna, yellowtail, albacore and WSB. Many good times. One afternoon he went off on us and said too much. We spoke up and he said if we didn't like it don't ride with him. His big mistake as he lost over a dozen regulars in one afternoon. We stopped chartering his boat and will never ride it or with him again. Good luck.

I get it. I've seen it before, both from Bob and several other Captains. What I take from it, and what I tell others, is these guys want to kill these fish worse than we do. I got to witness Mr. LoPreste do it to a group one afternoon on the Royal. And as is usually the case. We had it coming.

I agree, but sometimes recreational fishing can deteriorate to combat fishing, and that's not what we are on vacation for either. Sometimes somebody has to be Sheriff.

Ive fished and worked with a dozen or more commercial and recreational fishing captains over the years. Bob Taft is one of the best captains and fisherman you could ride with. Im sure people are just waiting to see if the bite is going to get better before dropping a weeks pay.

All those trips, all those years, and you quit after one ass chewing from the captain. Damn dude?!!?! Lets see you spend four decades chasing fish for ungrateful bitchy customers who cant catch a cold let a lone a BFT and see if you dont snap once in a while. That job is a grind. No sleep, lots and lots of stress. If he doesn't catch fish he doesn't feed his family let alone yours.

We are going on a 3.5 day in August with Bobby. Cant wait. Hopefully your trip will fill up and you guys will go kill em!

Leaving on a 2 day with Bobby & Scotty Friday, with my oldest son, and his oldest son (11). 4th year in a row, plus an additional 5 day in August and am looking forward to the trips. They do work their butts off to get you on the fish. Lots of stress on the boat Captain's, and all in all they handle it well. Too bad one trip ruined a reputation, and caused hard feelings.
