Sorry for the late report, moving again (second time in three months).... Arrived at the landing and loaded the cart with all the gear and giveaway goodies (Jigs, Getsome, shirts, hats, hooks, stickers and sinkers). We also had some raffle stuff provided by 5star and JRI Custom Lures. The usual margarita supplies were also loaded. The storm had passed through leaving us with a chill in the air but everybody was eager to get on the water. The first day we did the Bluefin travel game with a lot of hide and seek. After a storm comes through they are very good a the hiding part as we only saw one jumper all day. It was a very nice ride with plenty of time for relaxation. As the day came to a close the margarita bar opened and we headed for yellowtail grounds. As it turns out these fish too are very good at the hide and seek game. We spent a good part of the morning searching the spots to see if anybody was around. After a ton of ground was covered with no sign of yellow the Capt. decided to change up the game and go on the hunt for the bottoms critter fish taco things. It didn’t take long for everybody to start pulling up the target species. There were plenty of the usual critters with a few lings thrown in. After some time we went back on the hunt for those disappearing yellows. We did manage make a couple drifts on a few different schools we located. They were reluctant to stay with us for any amount of time. There were plenty of bones if you want to have some fun. Out of the few drifts we did make most of the fish were caught on the Stjnger Jig. There was two guys who had never caught a Jig fish and this turned out to be their day. I was not so lucky. I did have one yellow circling and saw a bone swing through clip my line, oh well. It was a free swimmer too. With day winding down and the yellows not willing to cooperate we headed to make some deep drops for more tacos. Same game as before in a little deeper water. These were some of the biggest bottom critters I have seen in some time, maybe the deeper water?? As the day was closing once again the refreshments were severed on the lido deck. All in all it was a great time with a bunch of fun guys. Fishing wasn’t wide open to say the least, weather was good and it was better than being at the office. Looking forward to the next adventure. Thank you Jerry for all the cool stuff. JRI Custom Lures always does its best to put on a fun trip with some great product. “If you were on the trip and have some pic feel free to share”.
