Jet/Tiller mod needed

Anyone have a Jet/tiller that they have modified so the tiller handle will lay more parallel than stock?
The pic shows my tiller all the way lowered.. I’m trying to come up with a modification that will allow it to tilt down to where the ruler is.
The goal is to make it easier to run the tiller while seated in an open sled.. (less stress on my shoulder if lower)
Anyone ever done it or have suggestions of someplace that can make it happen? (Somewhere in the Portland-Seattle area)
Trimming up the motor isn’t an option, and if I grind off the stop, the handle would probably just flop all the way to the floor.
I don’t think adding a wedge on my transom would work as it would change the intake angle on the jet & id have lots of blow out..
So the mod is above my pay grade.

What about having a wedge made to go where the studs mount tiller to the motor? How many degrees down do you want the tiller?

perfect height would need to be barstool height.. but i kinda want my feet to be on the floor too, and keep my center of gravity below the gunnels so i dont get flung overboard on hard turns.

Umm... That would be a handful trying to control the torque from a 115 with one of those. But they are great for trolling motors

I was thinking of an adjustable seat that you can raise for trolling at low speeds, and then lower when running on step. I get the feet on the floor thing, but couldn't you use a tackle box or something like that for a footrest while trolling?

Can’t you just grind the stop down til the angle is what you want. Or cut the stop off and try and build an adjustable stop.

Talk to 3 rivers marine. They might be able to build you a custom mounting block with your more desired angle.

Seems we have a few aluminum fab folks would could have one drawn and cut with a water jet?

That piece has a lot going on.
It supports the tension adjustment, bolts to the motor, has the cut out for the tiller..
But yeah, that’s the area that needs to change.

I did some grinding & don’t think that’s the solution.

I would have loved to see your face as you were grinding away at that thing. I know how picky you are about your stuff and I am so suprised you attempted the "ah fuck it, I'll just start grinding" idea.

Take the bolt out. See if there's a mechanical stop. Then grind more.

What I need is something like an E-Tec. Tiller angles on those are Money!

Can’t tell exactly from the angle of the pics but it looks like there’s a steel bracket that connects it. Looks like you could take it out, bend it down and reattach
