Haven’t been able to get on the water for 2+ months so didn’t mind cranking up from 400-700 feet. S9 area (ie. Mexico). Water 60ish. Super clean with good signs of life (porpoise birds). No top water fish signals however. (3 anglers aboard). Squid strips only.

Side note: first time on new launch ramp. Noticed entering and leaving basin is a blind exit/entry so chances for other boats entering/exiting at same time and someone needing to back down is real. Also noticed a fair amount of debris and kelp building up inside the basin alongside the docks. That’s not gonna be pretty after a while.

Lastly, these two guys left their cleat and immediately went full throttle inside the basin leaving a ton of wake, waves crashing on the ramp and general discomfort. Nice job clowns.

I noticed that, too. First time at the launch for me since it opened. I've gotta be honest, looks real nice. However, I did notice some fellas fishing the pier surrounding it and I also noticed the thick string of kelp building on that corner. Also agree with the wake... looks nice, but I think it could've probably been drawn up a bit better. That entry/exit is also tight for the bigger boats and it is totally blind going out. I did like that it literally took me 15 minutes to hit the barge for fresh bait and be on the water fishing a lot quicker, though.

Nice job on the bottom dwellers!

Grumpy looking cods. How much weight did you use to reach that depth?

Sounds like that boat launch was horribly designed....Sweet rockfish off season, I didn't even think about catching in Mexico....Props!
