The trip was great. Coiba Island is even more spectacular than I had remembered. Did not see any marlin so after 3 days we tried inshore and caught 18 species including my Biggest Rooster and Biggest Cubera ~ Bill (North Carolina)
  • Jan 12 Trolled the Hannibal Bank with Capt Tom's live baits and my favorite Moldcraft and Bart lures.
No marlin.

  • Jan 13 Trolled off Isla Jicaron.
Still no marlin.

  • Jan 14 Decide to fish inshore.

# 01 Cubera Snapper was 40 + pounds

  • Jan 15 Fished the other side of beautiful Isla Coiba after trolling Isla Montuosa

# 01 Barracuda
# 01 Blue Runner
# 01 African Pompano
# 01 Flag Cabrillo
# 01 Sienna Mackerel

# 01 Green Needlefish.
  • Jan 16 Had snapper for breakfast. Temporarially satiated with inshore fishing tried for marlin again.
No luck.

  • Jan 17 Last fishing day. Tried to do it all. Trolled the Hannibal Bank. Jumped off 1 P. Sailfish. Then fished inshore on East side of Coiba.

# 02 African Pompano
# 02 Jack Crevalle
# 01 Kawakawa
# 01 Dorado
# 01 Green Needlefish
# 01 Sienna Mackerel.
You know you are in a good fishing hole when the Captain Tom asks whether you would prefer to
catch Cubera or Roosters for the last 2 hours of the trip.
  • Jan 18 Flew home loaded with sweet memories.

Great pics...looks like you salvaged some good inshore fishing even though the offshore wasn't cooperating.
