Too small. I'll go with the Skipjack or Bonito.
That's exactly what I was thinking..
Guys will spend $250 on a ticket, $80 for food and beer like ever other week during the season. Then go and bitch about losing $40 in 10 years on JP.
what a “nightmare” indeed.
Sounds stupid. So if you enter jackpot and it's SOP to give to crew then no extra tip? Or you supposed to tip on top of that? Never been on cattle boat but thinking of going out on a full day. Think the fare is like $100. How much tip they expect? Like $10-$15 cool? Sounds like alot of damn money they making.12 an hour or more for 8-9 hours plus alot in tips. Plus they seem like they try to scam you for more. And you just let them!?! You momos tip Starbucks too?
$4 per year?
If money means nothing to you send me all of your extra.
Let me guess . . . you're all talk.
I’m Scrooge McDuck buddy. I got something for you but it ain’t money! Lol still want a hand out?
Boats don’t even do these for the most part because guys lose sight of the fun and cry over $5 after they spent $250 on a ticket, beer, food, and a lost jig or 3 ($12ea).
Spilled milk is all.
Cool, I love BJ's
I don’t think it’s losing that’s the issue. It’s the manner in which some lose
I’ll only give jackpot if the crew is good, just because we fish with the cattle boats doesn’t mean they are all good. A lot of guys on here swear that the crew deserves the jackpot money, not in all cases.
Haven’t had anyone get that excited to give me sloppy toppy since maybe high school.
i dont give crap to deadbeat deckhands, who about 75% of the time are just helping and chatting with their friends who will give them the JP in exchange for free boat rides.
Another fish similar to the mackeral is the Frigate Tuna or Frigate Mackeral. They are both in the same family and genus as the bullet tuna, but they are different species.
However, the max weight of the frigate mackeral is around 3.5 lbs (world record is 3 lb and 8 oz) and the bullet mackeral is around 4 lbs (world record is 4 lb 1 oz).
For that reason, I think its more likely another tuna species like a big bonito or a skipjack.
Mmmmmmm, cat food.
Hahaha, just being a dick.
They are super tasty smoked.
Not gonna lie- by the time weigh in comes on a multi-day, I’m usually crashed out in my bunk sawing logs.
