I have a bulk spool of 65lb j braid. I want to spool some onto my lexa 400 and leave enough room for a 30lb topshot. How castable will the reel be? J braid is super limp unlike some of the lesser strand brands. Will I be more prone to backlash? I'l admit that I don't get a ton of water time to be extremely proficient.

I spooled mine with 50lb Jbraid 8x on my Lexa 400hd. I don’t have any problem casting.

I buy bulk spools of j braid and I like it overall.
    I think it casts well.
I know guys that don't like it and say it retains a lot of water......

Wet it before casting and you should be fine but do your best to avoid an over run. Picking out a spectra birds nest is no fun at all.

Just pack it on tight when you first put it on and if you break off or dont have any resistance when reeling in your line just put some tension on it to keep it tight on the spool. I have no problem with it on my MXL

I LOVE j- braid on my freshwater bass gear. Love the smoothness of Dynema...

I've got my Lexa 300 filled with 40J and it casts as well or better than any other braid I have. I will be buying more J braid in the future.
