Got a late start due to the Alamitos Bay closure as they brought in a warship, first cast nearly 9am.
Nice weather with a slight breeze, good current, some Bait, no dolphin or birds, water clarity better at about 15 ft, water temp warming at 61.8. Got to 62.8 when leaving at 1:00 due to winds at 12-14. As the wind picked up a red tide? developed. Nothing going on in the red tide. Found some clearer water and got a few more.
Put 26 bass on the boat, majority sand bass ranging from 10" to 19". Most around 14ish. All on plastics, mixed colors but red got the most. K-man special nailed about 12 fish. All released. Only two other boats in the area. Dog went swimming, she luvs the boat! Tried to get a pic to show the length on one of the larger grade, need to work on that. Nice jelly fish, or is it??
Anyway, met couple other fisherman out there looking forward to taking some trips! Got cold and windy around 1pm. Had to put the jacket on and drive the trough from Izors, felt like coming back from Catalina on windy day. Like 12 to 15 knots, cold wind. But, still great to be on the water! Tight Lines!
