Took the dogs out to Izors today. Greeted with light winds (4-6) and cold water (56.5 - 58.5), sunny. Somewhat murky water with about 10 ft visibility. Very nice day until about 3pm when the winds began to pick up, 7, 8, 9, 10+.
Got 23 total, 1 sculpin, 3 calicos, and 19 sand bass, from 10 in to 21 inches. All released. Used plastics, colors were all over the place, and so were the fish. Green, red, mint, black colors. Very light biters, almost like trout fishing! Scents made a difference. Been 3 weeks since I was out, water has gotten colder. Seemed the fish were on the solitary structure not on the bunches. Not many birds, but lots of bait. Most fish had a full mouth of tentacles and/or fin bait. Hit a good spot for an afternoon bite where I put most of my fish on the boat.
Dogs still not fans of the birds, she was being all stealthy on the swim deck when drifting looking for a pelican to get close enough.
Great day on the water! Tight Lines!
