Took my dog fishing partner to Izors 12/1 and found decent weather in the 60's, water Temps 60-61, clarity about 14', wind about 7 early then 5-6 most of the day coming from the south. Saw porpoise and birds working most of the morning, didn't get too close. One sea lion visitor, and no other boaters all day! We got a late start and didn't hit the water until about 9am. For some reason tough to get back on schedule with only one dog. Lost the big male Thanksgiving morning.
Anyway, put 17 bass on the boat! About 2/3 sand bass. Several shorts, several legal, and one beast at 24 inches! Steady picking for 3 hours and headed in about noon. All released, all caught on plastics while drifting the area. Several bites were very subtle, even the biggest bass felt like macks picking at the plastic. Got the big one on a double rig with another sandie about 16 inches. Pulls pretty hard with the wind, current, and size of those two! All inspected by the dog. She seemed to enjoy the pilot house too!
No rain and decent conditions. Tight lines this weekend! Just had to post couple picks of the pair...
