I fished with Dr Bob today on a Freedom Boat Club Key West. We made it to Izor’s in a freshening west wind. We did several drifts across shallow Izor’s and surrounding areas for a dozen or so mostly sand bass to 4 pounds.

The swell was no big deal but the west wind was relentless. You really needed a TM with spot lock or a drift sock to fish today. We called it quits after three hours.

We tried jigs, but all fish were caught on 4” Kman Specials. Candy red heads were favored over my clown heads today. I had one bait slashed, so there is at least one barracuda out there.

Water temp was 63 degrees and change. I think there was an uphill current only because we were not drifting downwind as fast as I thought we should. Best news of the day is we only burned 6 gallons of petrol.

Thanks for the invite Bob. Good times as always.

I worked a few small rock piles in that general area for a few hours. Bass, sculpin and a few nice sheephead. One goat was 22”. By 10 my spot lock was working hard to keep me on the spot. Stayed out probably an hour too long for my skiff. Limped back at about 10 knots getting nice and wet
