Interested in a PCHi inshore or Split Grip PCH Spinning Rod at least 7'6 or 8'0 . Does anyone have good pics of this rod?
I hear the first guide is reversed? Thoughts on this rod? Is the Split Grip OK on the PCH ?

Thanks,

Thanks,

I have the 801H 20-50 PCH inshore.

first is normal on mine. It’s not a split grip.

caught up to 25#yellowfin with a 4500 penn slammer with 20# mono to 30# braid fly lining.

the slammer is a good reel but could use more cranking power.

I have the 7'6 in both M and MH. I was thinking of getting the spinning version, but I'd like to see it in person. Can't find one locally.

They mention a split grip spinning PCH Popping rod in their catalog however so far all of them have a full rear grip, all of them are 7'6" and have heavier line classes. These rods have a 40 size Alps XN guide that is reversed to reduce tangling. More or less built along the same lines as the rest of the PCH boat rods.

The PCHi Spinning rods they only make in 8' and they do not come with a split grip. They have lighter line classes and have a 40 size Fuji K Series first guide.

They did recently release a PCHi Split Grip series however they are only available in conventional at this point.
