Did a overnight trip Saturday and Sunday and man was it fun. Water was a lil cool at 60 degrees but nice and blue. The yellows ran from 10 to 31 lbs. and we took 20 amongst 7 guys, and I shot 7, including a 30 and the 31. Heard a ton of croaking, so I grabbed my 3 band 60 inch gun and headed into the kelp. No go, no croaking. Seems like they are deeper over sand, off the hi spots. Swimming back to the boat, decided to check on the boys looking for yellows out deeper. Swam over some bait so I tossed my flashers real quick. As they hit about 20 feet, I noticed a school of big yellows to my right at about 40 feet. Dove to the flashers and grabbed em. Looked up to see the school going by, but they weren't yellows, they were bluefin!! 40-50 lb. fish, about 40-50 in the school. Gave a lil shake and they made a big turn towards me. Now, I have my smaller gun with NO float on my line, so I grabbed my floatline, held on AMD pulled the trigger. Game on! Every time I got pulled under I would give it a lil line and grab some air.I knew I was getting close to the end so I put the brakes on AMD kicked like a mudder fawker. Started getting some line back and knew it was mine. Just shy of 50 and very rewarding on my seabass rig! Epic trip with good buddies. Doesn't get any better! imagejpeg_0_4.jpg imagejpeg_0_5.jpg

BADASS! BF on the Steel! Nice. Not often a boat can get Yellows-Bluefin with a halibut.

That's a sweet boat trifecta with the butt, yellows and bluefin. Wowza!
