Irvine Lake strugeon exceeds IGFA line record?

Kay Fujimara [R] of Cerritos landed this big sturgeon at Irvine Lake today, using 3-pound test Trilene XL leader material. The fish was immediately released, but standard length/girth/weight calculations put it at between 52 and 58 pounds. Current IGFA record for sturgeon in the 4-pound line category is 50 pounds, zero ounces.

The biggest fish I've caught on 3lb test was a 2lb trout.

No it's OK-if you tell the IGFA that it was posted on BD as a record they'll take your word for it.
