The Intrepid weighed in with 17 over 200# with 5 over 300# the largest was 360.4#
Really going off down there! Excel totals will be recapped eventually. Our hucklongfin (Mark Thomann) has two bigs, like 299 and 320. Choate picked up one a little over two fiddy. Great time to be on a 10 day!
Congrats and really stoked for all the anglers and the crews and captains.
Time for a new avatar pic.
Great trip for Intrepid! Congrats to Sam, the crew and everyone on the trip!
Sam and crew did an amazing job. I can't begin to express my gratitude for the experience of a lifetime.
Congrats Kevin! You chose the right trip... Epic!
I'm pretty sure this was on a 10 day trip...
If so, catch of the big ones was only over 4 or 5 days... I'm sure it was a lot of fun.. I'm looking foward to some trip reports from guys/gals on that trip..
Great Captain and crew----Intrepid knocked it out of the park on this trip and Captain Sam etched his name in the record book. Very happy for all of them and especially the anglers on this trip.
Sure would be nice if they said how they caught them in the reports. I mean, don't they know we are living vicariously through these reports !&!&!#&!
Yes Indeed. Sam is one of the top young Captains in the fleet!
Congratulations to Sam, crew and anglers! Way to go INTREPID!
I'll be attempting to put together a good write up about the trip. Shorthand version is 3 days at the grounds all fish caught were either on the kite including 2 supers and the rest were on flyline sardines on 100# gear (3 supers there) including mine at 360+ which ate two baits and came in HOT . Losses were minimal considering the grade of fish due to outstanding work by Team Intrepid
Can't wait to hear the details
Damn that is a sub
Came over the rail with 2 lines in the mouth ??
Kevin, good 10 day trip eh? haha!!!! Stoked to see LB all smiles, that trip will go down for the ages for sure. Kudos to Sam for manning the helm on such a definitive type of trip, I am so stoked for him and all you lucky folks who scored! Good seeing Art, Jack and Cameron all smiles. Congrats to all involved.
Considering the success the Intrepid enjoyed on this trip, it is really surprising to me how little notice it is getting. It just seems that unless you are a follower, you just aren't in the know........what a shame.
Congratulations to Capt Sammy, the crew and especially the anglers. Certainly a trip that will be remembered the ret of their lives!
It is all about the crew, not the boat that scored, with the man at the helm being number one.
100% agree without crew assistance and a Captain putting you in position to hook fish very very few of these large tuna would be boated.....if any.
Right place, right time with the right crew. A trifecta for sure.
Very Happy for all the anglers and crew but have to admit to being a little jealous. They are now all on crack and will have to try and score another fishing fix soon just to stay even. What a trip!
Yeah Alby, the fish came in with two hooks, lines and over 60# of drag. It didn't really get a chance to turn its head and came in in 5 minutes. Big kudos to the crew for gaffing such a hot fish so well. There were literally 4 gaffs in its head almost perfectly timed and it exploded out of the water in a final bid for freedom.
