Yeah I'm blazing a trail solo. Been waiting and waiting for friends and family to commit to a trip but got tired of waiting and said F it, I'm not getting any younger, I can make friends on the boat! I'm flying from Houston on Halloween and flying back on Friday 13th. I hope that's not a bad omen.

Matt, you are going to have the time of your life, relax and enjoy the ride. Don't hesitate to ask the crew questions or for help, they are there to make certain you have a great trip, they gladly provide a helping hand.

Thanks Chris I'm looking forward to it. I think 99.9% of fishermen are good people so really my only worry is how I'm going to sleep the 2 weeks prior to the trip.

I really like the looks of this trip and the overall timing and moon phase/could be an incredible mag bay time?

There are always lots of experienced folks on larry's charters who are more than happy to help.

Most important thing : move your feet and stay AHEAD of your bait or fish

    my 10 cents

Yeah I definately don't want to be wasting time at the rail hung up in snafu tangled mess and I damn sure don't want to be the guy who causes someone to lose a fish, it makes me sick to think of it. I'm always pretty good at following my bait/fish up and down the rail and staying perpendicular to it as much as possible, but that said it is a little different here so I will do my best to assimilate quickly. Watching the pandemonium on board when the bite full on really makes a person respect the skill you guys and the crews have to keep it all working smooth.

That's great! I did my first solo trip last Summer and came back to fish with the same group this year. You will no doubt meet some great people on the water, and don't be afraid to ask questions of the crew/fellow anglers, most are more than willing to help out.

I buy it when I book way in advance. The vast majority of times it isn't needed. It's not super expensive, especially considering your costs to fly out and ship gear.
