for those who do not lease their modem from their ISP which modem have you purchased.

I would like one with Wi-Fi incorporated. My ISP is charging $8 per month to lease one and I have see modems online for like $50 or so.

I have Time Warner with 30mbps of service. I was just informed that everyone's service will be upgraded at no charge and will be tripling the speed if that's anything to consider when purchasing

You can go to Best Buy, and let them know who your ISP is, and they'll sell you a compatible modem with wifi. You'll probably have to contact your ISP to do the switch.

Make sure your new modem is a DOCSIS 3.0 modem. Most are these days. The older DOCSIS 2.0 modems maxed out at 30mbs. Something like this:

I have a docsis 3.0 modem and a fancy ASUS AC router. I'll be good if they go to 600mb+.
