No other words to describe the bluefin fishing that's going on right now. Average grade is 120-150#, with a mix of 170+, and the occasional sub 100. Biting heavy line, 80 and 100# topshots (even got 2 on 200# flouro). Don't miss it....
Flyline has been most consistent with a few sinker and flatfall fish in the a.m.

It's like Hurricane Bank in our back yard.

Fished with you in August and got 2 100#'ers(see pic). There's a youtube video online of you jumping in saving Bruce's 130# fish by untangling his line in the prop. I was standing right next to you when you jumped in with your crew all shaking their heads in wonder. Insane, intense but also very cool...If this bite continues, I hope to jump on your boat next week and get another shot at this possibly twice(last year and this) in a lifetime opportunity in our backyard. Amazing...

Hey Markus! Please keep the chum in the water! Will be on your Sunday trip. For anyone who has the passion to do battle with these brutes I highly recommend Markus and the New Lo-An. When the captain dives in the water to untangle your trophy, you know they mean business. Just a fabulously dedicated crew. Last two trips with Markus produced a cow and a 140 butterball. (Danny put my butterball on a diet!). Good Luck! See y'all at the rail!!!!

    What are you going to fish? I got a Tac16II 80/100lb on an 30-80 rod an HX 5/2 100/80lb on a 50-100 rod. I've got 250g glow Flatfall's and other assorted jigs. I've got a Penn 50VSX but it's on a troller.

Caught the #140 on a Talica 12 with a calstar mh700. It's loaded with 65 braid and 60 mono. Have trolling stick with TLD 30 loaded with 80/80. That landed the cow. Might try a terez heavy with the Talica 12. My friend Rick who is on trip has a couple of Talica 20s. Might borrow one of his! Lost my 250g glow flat fall when a BFT wrapped the ENTIRE boat. Best damn gnarly tangle I have ever seen!! I will try glow ahi jig in morning. Love to fly line baits but have caught a few with rubber band torpedo. See you on the boat. Happy to share what I have learned and always want to learn more.
