So you thought you could fish, check out the clip below.
NCREDIBLE - BOTH THE BIRD AND THE PHOTOGRAPHY

Hard to believe this Osprey got 5-6 fish at a time and then got a flounder under 3 feet of water and made off with what looks to be a 5+ lbs steelhead. Have you ever seen a bird shake water off like a dog does? Wouldn't want to get in its way when its eyes are locked onto you and his talons in the "load" position! The talons are amazing!
There are 3 sequences in this one video:
1st sequence - catches half a dozen fish in one strike.
2nd sequence - plunges talons into deep water to grab the prey.
3rd sequence - captures a large fish that looks as if it weighs more than he does!
    This is incredible to watch!

Hope you all enjoy this as much as I did.

That is amazing, did you notice at one point he had the steelhead by one talon? Imagine the eyesight to see a flounder from the air and make that precise of a strike at speed, badass!

Also noticed that just before entry into the water the talons were spread wide open and pulled up directly in front of it beak. Everything was lined up targeting it prey.
Got to give big Kudos to the photographer too. Amazing talent.

I think there are a couple of them at the Coronado golf course. Impressive hunters they are.

I too was wondering the same thing. Got the video from my sister who found it surfing and thought I would like it. So the Video is 3rd hand for sure. Don't think the original poster was a fisherman. The fish is a Salmonid for sure but a Steelhead........ maybe. Steelhead have a longer more slender profile, have brighter overall coloring and have some pinkish coloring along the lateral line. It's a guess for sure. But never the less a trophy any of us would pleased with.

Awesome video thanks, if you would like to see these birds in action check out Balboa Park Lake in the San Fernando Valley. They are there every day. There is a yearling that is learning to hunt and is amusing to watch as it gets better at his trade. It's parents are amazing!
