Nice job, remember a few mid grade fish on wahoo tackle in the early 80's when I worked on the Q105. This was pre spectra and pre two speed reels. We were a "Newell" boat then on all of the 50 and lighter gear.
I caught a 130# on 30# and a small Gamatasu hook, wimpy rod. When the fish came in the hook ripped from the lip, across the cheek and ended up in the eye socket bone. Scary when one dude was tossing wahoo jigs next to me when I was on the bow. Scary fun.
The biggest tuna I saw caught on 30# was a 170#
Mark Moffat could not get bit, so as a gag Tom handed his small outfit. I hope Mark is not listening, but the fish came up tail first like a 5 gal. bucket. He did not move from the corner.
I got my biggest Alijos fish ever (136) on 40lb and a 44lb wire, fishing for wahoo. That was the trip I got spooled on 2 straight baits on 40lb. Didn't have spectra back in the day, and it was a mo fo to get bit on anything bigger than 40
