I guess the best we can hope for is that you stay in Florida.
This guy reminds me of a guy named Alex that started going at it with Soda Pop a few years ago. He’s almost as unbalanced, just as much in love with himself, the best fisherman ever, not to mention the best fish cleaner ever, but stops his idiocy just prior to getting booted off the boards. Calls us all a bunch of dicks. Yeah, everyone is to a degree, but his posts make him a bigger one than 99% of the guys I’ve fished with on long range trips over 20+ years.

You don’t like us. You don’t like our boats and our fish. Stay away.

I agree about what you are saying about this guy, but if what he is saying is true, then I would have to side with him.

I bring my SKB only on long trips because I always get crappy tackle spot. Most of the time on the deck. It’s gets hosed off and wet so it’s not a problem plus it won’t slide or tip.

A few years ago on the RP. We were unloading after the trip, my reel case ended up in someone elses car!!!! Went searching an actually found it!!! Thank goodness. I could never have been able to replace them all!!! Took my bag out of the guys car, and went back to getting the rest of my stuff put in my car!!! I couldn’t believe someone would do that, but it takes all kinds I guess.

    So tell us more.
    Was it a mistake?
What did he say when you found it in his car?
How did your case get in his cart?

Minimalism is always a good goal but I'm still shaking my head over the cook on the Monte Carlo badmouthing people for taking more than one rod each on an offshore dorado trip when there were also bluefin and yellowfin in the area biting. It's just because they have a badly inadequate amount of rod holders

So, for what it’s worth, it didn’t work on this trip. Guys brought enough to load shelves in a tackle shop. How about a large SKB box AND a WFO bag that holds for additional 3700 size trays.

Wahoo fishing was a slow pick and I lost zero jigs or bombs. But I was ready with about a dozen bombs and two dozen jigs. As usual, I could have gotten by with 4-6 rods and a pocket full of hooks.

I am surprised that no one has stated how the Independence handles the tackle box situation. .Before you board the boat you know where your home is for your Tackle Box because you will be number 1 or number 30.. It is stress free. In years past I would arrive at midnight , Grab a cart but no more.. If I am last in line I have my spot, No hassle.

Agreed, no hassle, except....was in #20 on 13 day. Constant chair dance, not mention great cup/bottle collection point next to stairs. (photo clipped from Soda Pop's current Indy trip post). Thankful not in 21 or 22! if you're #1 thru 6#.....👍

19-20 been there. I had #19, guy with the big SKB had #20. His faced front, I put my Shimano Borona bag sideways and I accessed it from the stairs side. Perfect.

If your number is 1-6 or 7-12, you’re golden. If your number is 13-18, you’re screwed, bottom shelf and crawling on your knees the whole trip.

I bring an SKB big box on trips 6 days and longer. (It doubles as a seat if need be) Small SKB for the shorter trips.
Yep I’m a “bring a chair guy” and very conscience about blocking others.
I’ve been on the Indy and had issue with space, but worked it out. (Always does)
Honestly having some consideration for others goes along way.

I’ve given up my bunk to an older fisherman that was placed in an upper bunk. There so may ways to be cool and just as many ways to be a Di&K. Squash the BS and fish. communicate with everyone be open and be considerate.
If you don’t like the stickers inside my SKB don’t look.

Not much consideration by some, was all I was saying - alot of “I’m entitled”. Apparently from some of the posts following mine, others have had the same issue. As far as i know, i paid the same to get on the trip/boat as everyone else did, that should entitle me to the same as everyone else, as I described, it didn’t - asking nicely and then asking rudely and then asking crew to help didn’t sway the entitled ones. unfortunately, crew tip then suffered and captain got an earfull. not asking for anything extra or special, just the same/similar. If people paid extra for primo box spots, you would here no complaints from me - maybe the boats need to take notice - I blame it on the boats for not providing designated similar tackle space for each paying passenger and for not controlling this.

Here’s one of the two trays I’m taking on my next trip, and that a 15 day.
The other tray is for hooks and weights. Travel light!

Second pic is of a handful of trolling lures that go in a small duffel along with rigging materials for topshots and leaders and a few bombs.View attachment 1453397View attachment 1453398

On one of the last long trip I was on,
I seen A guy get tired of the same guy
Leaving his chair in the way, so he took a cup of water out of the bait tank,
And wet his seat on his chair,
It was pretty funny seeing him fishing with a wet Ass.

I threw a guy's chair over board. It was always right in the middle of the galley door so everyone was stumbling around the chair to go in and out.

I was 24 out of 28 on my Indy 11 day trip, no room on the rack for my small bag. Guys with a shit pile of stuff bumped me out of assigned space, wouldn’t move it when I asked. Talked to crew, they said put your bag on the deck under the racks. My bag was soaked wet from wash downs and blocked by chairs the entire trip. Tip for crew suffered. Bunch of entitled douchbag passengers on my trip, only a few decent joes. My guess: The notice mentioned in the OP will fall on mostly deaf ears.

That's bullshit. I am a pretty tolerant person on a boat. But if someone took my spot and didn't remove their tacklebox is asked politely, then I would move it myself.

I have been on A overnight trip where A Handi Cap gut brought A wheel chair on board, and had it right in front of the entrance of the Galley the hole time ,
and I never seen him in it , but no one wanted to offend him so it sat there all day .
