Hey Baja, when I look at the current/final leader board on the official IGFA site, I see that the team from Mexico, "IGFA Offshore Champions 2010" got moved from 3rd, to a tie for first. Any insight as to what happened there?

It was not until Friday night at the awards banquet that the judges declared that first place was a tie between IGFA Offshore World Championship 2010 in Mexico and Islamorada Fish Club Captains United States, both finishing in the lead with 3,400 points.

Oscar Daccarett explained that there were problems with the VHF radio and the team was unable to report the hookup of an additional six marlin the team had released. Resulting in a controversy that needed to be resolved by tournament judges to determine the winners.

After reviewing the Mexican team IGFA Offshore World Championship 2010 claims and video of the catches. Judges voted to allow the six catches to be included in the teams total catch. Announcing that both the Mexico and United States team were tied for first place. A record breaking feat for the Mexico team led by Daccarett as sharing the championship still meant that the Mexican team had won the championship for the third consecutive year.

According to Daccarett the catches were legal and the judge onboard the boat confirmed along with video showing the release of the six fish in question.

Daccarett commented that "he was proud of what the Mexican team had managed to become three time champions. A feat that had never been accomplished before by any sportfishing team in this event.

Maybe the death threats :2gunsfiring_v1: made to the IGFA Officials had something to do with them including the 6 previously disqualified fish??? What happened at this tournament is a disgrace to sport fishing and shows how deeply corrupt Mexico really is. This whole thing reaks of :shithappens:.
