I would consider an 700XH for the Talica 12.

    I have a 12 on an XH and it’s great for 50-60#...

    800XL (15-20lb bait/plastics) + Penn Fathom 12 star
    800M (25-30lb bait) + Penn Fathom 25N star
    700H (40-50lb bait/yo yo) + Penn Fathom 40NLD
90J (40-50 lbs surface iron) + Penn Fathom 25N star.

Budget friendly setups that will kill everything in 1-3 day range. If you go for the big bluefin, rent a set up)

Reels could be anything comparable since u didn't specify brand.

My personal preference is based on what I own. I currently have and fish these

    800ML - Fathom 12 star for 20-25# topshots perfect 25
    900M - Fathom 15ld2 for 30-occasional 40# topshots
    875H - Fathom 25nld2 for 40-50# perfect 40
    800XH - Fathom 40nld2 50-60# perfect 50
    775XH - 16VISXS 80-100#

If I had to take just some it would depend on what the trip is targeting and whether it’s offshore, to the islands, and whether or not big fish are a possibility All these are proven killers and are well balanced set ups. The Cousins 90j and 25n Star is also impossible to leave at home. I just bring them all.
