has anyone ever cut off the corroded portions of these Y pipes? Is it even worth salvaging?

Check eBay, know your part number or application. I always ask additional questions if an item is not pictured clearly etc.

I figured that replacing it would be the way to go, I saw a few online earlier in the week so it looks like they’re not a very hard to find item. I was cleaning and organizing my garage and this was in the way so figured I’d ask if anyone has ever salvaged one.

    Thanks for the feedback!

Do your self a favor buy a new one. If anything is going to give you a nightmare leak at the worst possible time, it is the exhaust on an out drive.
Unless you like pulling your engine!

There are some showing on CL, San Diego one looks like it’s still in a boat. Not sure of your exact needs but there may be other items avail from the same boat if the price is right.
