Nothing worthwhile is easy...!!! I salute him and all my fellow jig slingers out there grinding it out. One of the reasons I do not like to fish bait, bait fishing is easier than jig fishing. Once you get the bug of jig fishing it is hard to go back. Obviously there are exceptions and certain fisheries are primarily bait fishing and that is ok as well. It's whatever floats ones' boat..!!
For me it will ALWAYS be the visual of the strike and the feeling of the line coming tight. That first 10-15 seconds of that surface iron bite are what dreams are made of....

With the size fish swimming between there and he point. If you have it bring it. The last words you want to say are “I wish I had brought”

Well, since it’s come into the discussion, how about a couple pics?

Probably not the most effective way to get a bite at the Lupe, but a fun change up after getting a good haul on bait. This was at the end of 3 days of phenomenal fishing, so I think the crew and the others anglers had a better appetite at that point for doing the over/under dance with me in the square end of the boat—long rod, little star-drag reel and all.

I take a 20yr old 90j missing two guides and a Newell 336 held on with hose clamps and half full of 5yr old 40lb izor And a handful of fucked up looking 7x with the rustiest hooks and multiple dings from being beaten with dykes until they swim right.
If they don’t wanna eat that I don’t wanna catch them.
