Yes I am Miller. PM me if you have questions. I emailed you earlier
I make sure you are the same person who emailed me.
I am looking forward to fishing with you. You will have life time experience if weather is good enough to go offshore.
I highly recommend to stay one night at Yakutat or Seattle/Anchorage t to meet at Yakutat Airport in the morning. The bush plane leaves for the lodge from Yakutat Airport around noon.
I also recommend to book a flight from Yakuta to Seattle/Anchorage in the afternoon as the flight from the lodge can be delayed due to weather.
You don't need to bring rods. Bring your reels of your choice.
What reels do you bring? I have a Trinidad 16, Trinidad 30, Avet LX, a couple of Avet HX (wahoo), and some heavier stuff. Do you bring reels for salmon, halibut or both?
You need Trinidad 16 spooled with 20 - 25 lb line for king salmon and you need heavier reels like Trinidad 30 or Avet LX with 50 lb - 60 lb line for halibut or lingcod.
One spot is still open on the second trip from June 30 - July 6.
All my reels are spooled with spectra and I use short top shots. Will that work or should I just use what they have there? Thanks for all the info. I'm real excited to get on this trip.
Your setup is just fine.
Here is video of ling cod. You will get plenty of big ling cod on light jigs.
Ling cod catches
Remember this one Kil? Steve’s fat ling puked up a nice king salmon.
