    Hi guys and gals!

Are there any fishing/angler gurus that can help answer some questions in regards to rods + reels combo setups.

If so, can reply here or pm me. Thanks in advance.

If you are new to fishing, the bigger problem is that there are TOO MANY people who will offer advice on rods and reels. You'll have manufacturers and model numbers galore and all the choices can be paralyzing.

People will be honest and truly trying to be helpful, but there are a lot of possible choices to fill just about any requirement one might have. But if a few recommendations are made repeatedly, then they are probably pretty good choices.

Hey Mike. Since you are so close to it, you should start with a trip to the Longfin in Orange. They have a huge selection and are both knowledgable and helpful. Go in with a budget in mind and be realistic about what you want to do. Early in the game I would consider more versatile setups that can fish a couple different line classes (and be effective for both bait or lure) but that's my opinion so don't take it as gospel.
