All Raptors have MC. What rod brand and model did you got with ... whose 700xh?

And when referring to the Phenix variants of 700XH... are you guys talking Black Diamond or the black diamond hybrid?

    Calstar 700H. Game Over.

In fact I own 2x of the very same combos, JX Raptors on 700H rods.

If you like soft rods, the phenix psw 700xh is fine. The phenix 700xh hybrid, hybrid, is more approximate for the jx raptor....you will learn what you like...good luck with the search...

I use 65# braid on both. One is setup to run 100 yd topshot of 40-50 # mono and the other is 405# os traight braid and then I run a short (4-6 ft) leader of whatever I need...

ive got fish around 50 lbs very easy. had a 100 lbs bft est lost at gaff :( last year on it with a jx 2 speed took a long time but was good to me i acid wrapped. but ive got a lot of tuna and yellow tail bass stuff like that the only thing i need is a dodo. if there was bigger yf or bf i would cast my 6480 and i know it would do its job with the jx raptor

I might suggest for a 7ft. rod the United Composite Elite RCE700 XH C
and for an 8 ft. the United Composite Elite WAHOO C

    they work for me!

    Calstar 700h

The quality control on the factory Phenix rods is horrible.

Go to a local shop and look down the guides, there all crooked.

Calstar might not be as an attractive wrap, but there's a reason everyone has 20+ year old rods that they still fish.
