    Hey guys,
I have a turn of the last century Marlin 336 30.30
The forward firing pin broke and I am quickly running out of leads on aquiring one (thanks Clinton, f'n pu**y). I am now trying to chase down a used one, or have one made.
    Does anybody have any leads?

    Thanks
    Michael

have you contacted marlin directly? i know this sounds simplistic. but, the gun companies are under so much pressure to keep their guns safe and not get sued that in many cases if something breaks they'll fix it for free. for something that old i don't know.

the safety on my mossberg pump shotgun broke. i sent it in and they not only fixed the safety, they replaced the stock that had a teeeny tiny crack in it. they even paid for the return shipping!

if you haven't already done so, contact marlin directly. they may ask you to ship it to them.

Your looking at $11.45 for the front firing pin and $6.15 for the rear pin..

Sure, but it's turn of the century, over 100 years old. Do you really think Marlin has one just laying around? Besides, already called them first. For your information, Clinton signed a law (what you weren't paying attention either?) making the mfg's send their older parts to Canada and England, where their respective lawmakers limit the amount of any one part, so I most likely can't find one and this is why I'm asking for a used one or a inexpensive machinist.

Now, I'm not trying to be a dick, but this forum would be sweeter if we all took sometime to read the whole post (not just this one by any stretch) so that the responses were more accurate and less likely to piss someone off. Don't be mad, we have all seen this and its getting more prevalent.

    Peace out Bitches:finger:

336 still uses the same firing pin as far as I know... The only big modification to the original design is the crossbolt safety I am not speaking out of my ass.. I have ordered parts for my pre 64 winchesters and vintage marlin model 1984 from Numrich.... A firing pin is easy... I have never had a problem getting any parts for my vintage guns.. If one supplier doesn't have it, the other normally does...

Well I didn't read or think this through.. It can't be a 336 and be turn of the century because the 336 was first produced in 1948.. Its procursor was the model 36 first built in 1936... It must be an 1893...

    Yank n Crank,
that's good info I didn't have thanks. I had two smiths looking for this part and maybe it doesn't exist. Maybe, their not that qualified if they don't know that info either. I'll look into the 1893 possibility. And I'll have them cross reference the pins through the three models.
    Thanks again all.
