I reckon that's probably part of the reason the management are trying to discourage political discussion on BD. Political discussion almost inevitably leads to people getting mad at each other and behaving in ways they wouldn't otherwise because of their frustration. It also tends to favor divisiveness. I know some of you have said I'm a hypocrite because I do comment on such threads, but I do think it would likely be a tighter community with less butthurt if there was not political discussion. Like I said before, let's not forget why we are all here and what we all have in common. It is a shame when experienced people leave, or when people end up ignoring other people and we can't really have complete conversations as a result.

Sometimes certain types (my wife being one) that cannot help but to use every opportunity to try and sway people’s beliefs. Me, I couldn’t give two shits what others believe I vote the way I vote, but try to never bring it to work, hobbies, get togethers, BBQs, forums, phone conversations, pretty much anywhere. It’s just not worth it.
