Is there a logical reason for not allowing editing of a thread title?

If not, how about changing the post edit function to allow it?

We used to allow this but people started changing thread titles around. When they do this a few things happen.
Google loses index on the thread yes BUT the biggest problem is people started accusing us of moderating. "where did that thread go!?". It got real bad and moral was down.
So we took away the edit thread title and delete own thread for less headaches on our end and happier readers.

Jason like the new format, but have any idea why my Avatar is now frozen and not animated? If I go to my profile it is still animated....

    huh? :D.

I reuploaded it for you. We had to upgrade the program on the server that makes the animated gifs work... Hence why my avatar got changed. I was testing.

Ah, understand. Wasn't sure if this was an intentional change or something that was mistakenly overlooked.

    Jason:

    Hope to shot some ducks.

Well it's Sunday the 10th 2:15 p.m. and I can honestly say I am still having the same fucking issues as I had last Sunday.

If I go in as a visitor no issues. Once I log-in (if I can - as it takes several attempts) it says my pass word is invalid (3rd time this week). Once I get a new pass word and try to log-in I just watch the wheel spin for 5 minutes a click if I am lucky otherwise the page freezes and I have to refresh or close out and start all over.

After all of this the best way for me to access BD is to go in as a visitor get to where I want to be and then try to log-in (50%-50% chance). Then open and drink a beer between clicks. By the time you get the the forum of your choice, log-in, hit respond, down load a picture or two, add your text. post reply, you have downed a six-pac and used up about 60 minutes of your time.

PS: On a good note I am glad you took my suggestion and used a light gray background as it is easier on the eyes.

PPS: I am going to press reply now, cross my fingers, crack a beer and watch the wheel spin for 5 minutes - Jesus change is good - What did Eat Mikey say ? Adapt or die? I think we all feel a little dead, dazed, and confused if this is progress,,

PPPS: Nice job with Pete this morning..

Guys - The website is still an abortion to navigate through and post. I have sent e-mails as well as facebook messages to you outlining the issues with screen shots and nothing has changed. I just posted a post on a large mouth bass my son caught and it took 20 minutes as well as 3 log in attempts as the site freezes and the wheel just spins.

If you are not logged in and just want to browse there are not any issues. But try to log in and time stands still. Once logged in (this can take multiple attempts and you can't log in through Facebook) everything stops and you need to refresh multiple times to move forward. I have found that I need to not be logged in and get to where I need to be - then log in to post. Again this will take multiple attempts. Try to post a picture with your post - forget about it. This again takes multiple attempts and I have to go back in then log in - hold my breath and refresh several times before the picture appeared. Then it posted 3 times.

Can you please, please post an update as to where you guys are at with all the issues and confirm that there are issues after 8 weeks since you changed the website?

    Thanks..

Go to the classified, pick your forum that applies to what you are selling, type in your details, and hit post new thread. You can "watch" the thread, and get notification via e-mail or alerts if you want.

Recently, it appears that something is slow to load and therefore locking up the forums for several seconds. Any fix for this?
