The New Posts section of the forums is the most used / read of the whole site. 90% of the return users live by seeing what is new.
So here's a tip on how to use the "New" New Posts Search. Notice I put Search at the end...
When the New Posts button is selected it takes a snapshot of the current new posts that you have not seen since your last log on. (Cookies are important they store all the info as to what you have read and haven't read. Make sure they are enabled. By default they are enabled in your browser).
The New Posts that are displayed are ONLY the new posts at the time you did the "New Posts Search". More posting is going on outside of your "New Posts Search" that won't be displayed until you click "New Posts" again.
    Alright... The tip.
Select "New Posts", read through that list of posts until you reach the end.

Then click "Mark Forums Read". It will clear out that "New Posts" thread.

Select "New Posts" again and you will get all the latest postings that were going on while you were viewing the previous "New Posts Search".

If you select "Recent Posts" it will display the New Posts along with the old posts that you are watching or have participated in.

Regular members seem to be not complaining about the new posts since we put up the recent posts option.

I started using the "recent posts" and it seems to replicate what used to be called "new posts".
I prefer that option. The new "New posts" was not to my liking. I'd find myself clicking off a thread and then wanting to return to it for whatever reason. I'd try and go back but it had disappeared into cyberspace. I don't usually pay attention to what forum something is in, so it would be more trouble than it's worth to relocate it.

"recent posts" in the new format works just fine for me.

Working on a new one that reads
"Things you for sure want to see"..............it's simply a redirect to the new posts button....or, "You can't miss this!"

"SEE what the BHG is doing"......all redirects to new posts :frehya2:

You don't. Create a new thread in the appropraite forum. Once you hit submit it will populate the "new posts" forum.

You can create a "reply" (comment) on an existing thread within the new posts forum though.

Why aren't all posts within the New Post section. I have posted a couple of times and have not seen the post in New Posts

Because once you have posted you have already seen it therefore it is no longer "new".
