Mike.... that's all good when you find it, but this little guy slithered away and is now presumably still somewhere inside their house. Top that off with the real possibility that it could be a rattler as well as there age and there is much to it!

I agree, disposing or catching it should not be that big of a problem..... it's the problem with locating the thing again.... that;s the problem.

Yes not good dude… I talked to him yesterday he is recovering well now. For a while they were actually thinking he was going to lose his hand!! I shared the pic because he wants to use his experience as a learning tool as he hunts and owns property out in the sticks… I'm freaked out by rattlers and Mountain lions, mostly because of my kids and the amount of time we spend out in the hills…..

I know snakes need an external heat source to regulate their body temperature. What I would suggest is a heat rock or some sort of heat lamp placed or directed in an open area. Crank the A/C all the way up and wait. He'll find the heat. I like the fishing line noose idea once he's located.

    Just my humble opinion.

    Hey Mike!...

Night Time Is The Key My Friend!.. As Most Snakes Sleep During The Day And Wonder And Feed At Night!...As Max Put The Flower Is A Good Idea( but messy) And you Would Probably Want To Be There Just In case You Find A Trail. Think Like A Snake!( yeah i know wtf???) The Pinky (baby mouse) With The Hook Is A Good Idea (if you don't mind hurting the snake) tie it To A Chair Or Something Else A Nice 1/0 Circle Hook And Your Good to Go (they smell food they WILL FIND IT!) Food & Heat That's A Snakes Dream Life!! My Burmeese Python Gets Out She Goes Straight For The Stove(heat) They Can Flatten Themselves Out To Pretty Much Get Anywhere! The heating Rock Or Pad Is A Good Idea... If You Can't Find One You Can Always Use A Human Heating Pad(like for sore muscles) just Turn On High In The Suspected Area And Leave It! If You Need I Can let You Have One Of Those! Get The Mouse With Hook& Line... Put It On The Pad And Wait!:2gunsfiring_v1::2gunsfiring_v1: But After A While The Heat WILL COOK the Mouse and it Will Start To Stink!! But Its Like Fishing... The Bait Don't Work Time To Change It And Get Another! But Be careful, Ckeck All Dark, Warm Spots.. Even If Your Like NOWAY IT CAN GET IN THERE!!!... remember IT CAN! GOOD LUCK!!:2gunsfiring_v1: Aaron.

I could send my girlfriend over there to yell at him. After 10 minutes he'll coil up and strangle himself. Problem solved.

Light the house on fire and when it slithers out, stab him with an ice pick...

Oh never mind, that's for crab lice... :D

I used to collect all kinds of reptiles and insects when I was a kid and occasionally I would lose one because I didn't have good cages. I usually was able to find them before my Mom did, but one time this big old King snake got out and I couldn't find it for weeks. My Mom was cleaning out a closet one day, pulling out the tinker toys my brother had dumped inside and about the third handful of tinker toys she got a handful of snake instead. :D she was pretty cool about it, but I never told her about the 6" centipede that got away though...

No sign of the snake yet, although my bet is it's still in there.

Problem is, I cant get over there as much as I would like to help them (and that SUCKS!) Tried setting up a heating pad, turning everything off, lights,TV, all noise.... then having my dad take a look with a flashlight.... no go so far.

Tried a few empty 2 liter bottles with a slightly damp cloth inside and set on it's side. Also instructed my pops to put down several pieces of cardboard with the flour on top to try and at least detect movement from something.... still no go.

With the girls and work, I need to try and get over there again to do a few other things, cause I dont think my pops is doing some of these things how I would like, and I only made it out there once so far.
