Took some buddies out tonight hooping, we covered all the way from basically Crystal Cove to the harbor entrance for NADA. Some nice spider crabs (I hate those things, they haven’t evolved in 200 million years, they’re scary looking) and ANOTHER shark (we caught one opening night too). What’s the most bizarre thing you all have brought up in a hoop? I think 2 time shark takes my top spot..

An old beer bottle. It was covered with barnacles and other sea life. From the shape of it we thought it to be a Miller High Life bottle.

I always liked seeing the swell sharks. Cool looking, and feisty.

The oddest thing I ever got was a big rock with a two-foot kelp stringer growing on it.

Lots of stingrays, a few sclpin, three or four octopus and a few sea whelk's. I don't consider rock or spider crab by catch, those are just a welcome treat.
