Lots of gear in my regular spots. Found Chaffee empty so dropped em in at 5:45. Breezy but fishable. 68* water, incoming tide, 3/4 moon, bonito, Mack's and salmon heads for bait. First trap in wrap the prop=-O clear rope just before meeting the rocks! 45 min soak. 1st 4 traps come up blank almost all the bait gone? PVC and write cages unmolested. Definitely not Seals. I'm thinking octopus. Kid pulls out bananas! WTF! bananas go over the rail. Next trap 2 legals (just legal and a nice one)and a short. Rest of the night blanks true 4 different spots all blanks no crabs, snails nada. Nice weather good to get out for a few hours.
    Good luck!

I only find sand fleas when I’m fishing the sand........I’ve never caught lobsters when sand fleas in the pots

Does anyone else have similar experience with sand fleas?

Thanks for the heads up Dave.
We had an infestation of fleas after our first set near Angels gate and didn't rebait. After checking our second set, bait in our tubes was nearly gone.

It’s funny because the last couple times we have gone out, the presence of fleas in the bait cups have generally generally coincided with lobsters in the hoop. Including this 4lb bug and several other 2lb+ bugs. Now, I wouldn’t say it was an infestation of fleas, but they were definitely present. After about 2 soaks, we’ve generally topped the bait cups off with a little more bait and oil.
